After the five provinces and offices jointly formulated the strategy for the development of biotechnology and industry, Japan recently announced a chemical technology development strategy for the 21st century called the “Chemical Technology Strategy 2025”, which aims to greatly enhance the international competitiveness of Japan’s chemical industry force. The chemical industry is one of the major manufacturing industries in Japan with a share of 18% in the international market and 38 chemical products with a share of more than 50%, of which 14 products completely monopolize the world market. Its overall international competitiveness is comparable to that of European countries, but it is only half that of the United States. In particular, its smaller business, far less than BASF, Bayer, DuPont and other giant enterprises. In an increasingly fierce international competition, Japan is apparently at a disadvantage.
