随着素质教育的进一步推进,要求学生应用所学知识解决实际问题的趋势日益明显,近几年的高考数学试题增强了对密切联系生产和生活实际的应用性问题的考查力度.例如:96年有耕地粮食问题;97年有运输成本问题;98年有环保设备问题;99年有轧钢问题;2000年有菜篮子问题;2001年有生态旅游问题.通过对以上高考应用题的分析,可以发现有两个特点:一是应用问题正由小题向大题、进而向大小题相结合转化;二是由简单的直接应用向实际问题数学化转化.
