Since the decommissioning of the AE 21/23 class munitions vessel, the U.S. naval arms supply capability has started to decline. Currently, the T-AE 26 and T-AFS 1/8 level supply vessels are about to reach the 35-year service deadline. In order to make up for the lack of capacity for seafaring caused by the decommissioning of these ships, the U.S. Navy decided to build a new tier-one supplementary military ship, T-AKE. According to the mission requirements, T-AKE must meet: ■ The design must take into account factors such as life-cycle cost, survivability, crew formation and speed of navigation; ■ H-46D “Sea Knight” and subsequent vertical replenishment helicopters on board Takeoff and landing, refueling and maintenance, the hangar can accommodate two helicopters; The supply equipment used must be compatible with the equipment now used by the U.S. and allied navies
