日本广播公司、三菱电机公司和富士光学照相公司共同研制成一种红外电视摄象机。红外探测器使用硅阻挡层,可以探测3~5μm 波长范围,具有512×512象素的电荷扫描器件(CSD)用于读出。由这些元件组成的红外成象器被装入摄象头内的搅动循环机械冷却器冷却到-190℃。红外摄象机所用可变焦透镜也是为其新研制成的。这种红外摄象机可以象广播摄象机一样,制成手持式,透镜的孔径为 f/1.2,焦距长度30~120mm。
