They Aren’t Ours
Mrs. Jones had invited some friends for dinner. The time for dinner was coming, and she found her husband taking the umbrellas away from the stand.
“What are you doing that for?” she asked. “Are you afraid they will be stolen?”
“No, not that,” said Mr. Jones, “I’m afraid they will be recognized1.”

When a Tiger Comes
Two men are walking through the forest. All of a sudden, a tiger appears from a distance, running towards them.
One of the men takes out a pair of running shoes from his bag and starts to put them on. The other man with a surprised look and says, “Do you think you will run faster than the tiger with those?”
His friend answers, “I don’t have to outrun it. I just have to run faster than you.”
Six or Twelve
A lady went into a pizza shop. When she said that she’d like a medium pizza, the assistant asked her how many pieces she’d like to have it cut into, six or twelve. “Oh, goodness, six please,” said the lady, “I don’t think I could ever eat twelve.”

I’m Sure It Is Fresh
A new restaurant opened in our town, so Walter and I decided to try it. As the waiter took our order, Walter asked if the coffee was fresh. “I’m sure it is,” answered the waiter, “We’ve only been open for two weeks.”
