Objective: To explore the relationship between Leeds assessment of neuropathic symptoms and sign (LSSS) and pain intensity in patients with chronic low back pain. Methods: (1) The LANSS and the numerical rating scale (NRS) of chronic low back pain were enrolled in three research centers (People’s Hospital of Peking University, China-Japan Friendship Hospital and Nanjing General Hospital of Nanjing Military Region). (2) Spearman correlation analysis was used to evaluate the relationship between the score of the LANSS and pain intensity. Results: The total eligible rate of 2115 cases of chronic low back pain was 90.0%. The average age of the respondents was 50.1 ± 15.6 years. Among the eligible patients, 778 were male and 1125 were female. The median value of LANSS score increased with the increase of pain intensity, but the Spearman rank correlation coefficient was less than 0.4. The spearman rank correlation coefficient between the score of the LANSS and pain intensity was less than 0.4. Conclusion: The Chinese version of LANSS score increases with the increase of pain intensity, but there is no correlation between them.
