Recently commissioned by Kars Special Steel, UK, a 5-ton, 2.5-MW induction furnace equipped with VD and VOD ladle metallurgy equipment and state-of-the-art spectroscopy equipment can be used to produce high-grade steels on a small scale. Equipment put into use can make its production capacity doubled. The special steel produced by this unit has a carbon content of <0.005% and a hydrogen content of <0.0002%. This production capacity, combined with the fully implemented clean steel production process, continues to produce high cleanliness grades.
