在山东版图上,黄河顺流而下,山东半岛居入海口,总面积15.67万平方公里,人口8492.64万人。山东以占全国1.6％的土地养育着7.4％的中国人口。山东历史悠久,是中华文明的摇篮,龙山文化和大汶口文化遗址标明山东之渊源。齐鲁大地风光秀丽,登泰山而小天下的气魄也养育出诸多伟人,孔子、孟子、孙武、诸葛亮、贾思勰、李清照、辛弃疾、蒲松龄、王羲之、颜真卿均出自这里。出落是物产丰裕,矿产资源有128种,是全国粮、棉、油主要产区,桃、苹果,犁、杏、枣更是硕果累累,鱼、虾、贝、藻海珍满仓。在改革开放新形势下,勤劳智慧的山东人更是鼓足干劲,近年国民生产总值一直位居全国前茅,山东已成为华北经济强省。所辖济南、威海、烟台、青岛、日照、临沂、枣庄、济宁、荷泽、泰安、聊城、德州、滨州、东营、潍坊、淄博等市正大力改革,抓住本世纪最后机遇,奋力拚博。
