本文界定了文化、身份、文化身份、教师身份认同感这几个核心概念,对英语教师双重文化身份的特点进行了阐述,对中国英语教师文化身份进行了界定,并论述了大学英语教师应该持有怎样的双重文化身份及其必要性。在世界文化日益多元化和中国传统文化地位不断提高的今天,我国大学英语教师要体现出以英美文化身份为次、中国文化为主体的身份特征,这样的双重文化身份意识和行为是很有必要的。
