吴文化的研究,经过历史学、考古学,文献学等方面学者的共同努力,近年已取得不少可喜的成果。与吴有关的各种载籍,多为学术界所重视,如《左传》、《国语》、《史记》等书的记述,常有论作依据引用。但赵晔的《吴越春秋》,还很少有人专门研究。我一直认为这部书撰成虽晚,实际和《越绝书)一样,包含着不少较早的内容,在探索吴国史事文化时,是不可或缺的。前人对《吴越春秋》作过一些考察校理,这里不能详述,只就书中个别问题试加讨论,以说明书的价值,希望能引起读者的兴趣。《吴越春秋》作者赵晔,事迹具见《后汉书·儒林传》,云字长君,会稽山阴人,“少尝为县吏,奉檄迎督邮,晔耻于厮役,遂弃车马去。到犍为资中,诣杜抚,受《韩诗》,究竟其术。积二十年,绝问不还,家为发丧
Through the joint efforts of scholars in history, archeology and philology, the study of Wu culture has made a lot of gratifying achievements in recent years.
