Mokhin Hamid’s Stranger at Lahore Tea House begins with “9.11” incident and tells the story of Pakistani youth Chang Ghazi and “American Dream” The crowd faces the identity dilemma under the impact of multiple cultures. Combining Homi Baba’s mixed postcolonial theory with the analysis of the reasons for the protagonist’s dilemma, we can find that the pursuit of a purely single identity is not the recipe for resolving the identity predicament, and the identity construction in the hybrid is what the novel wants to convey to us The rational way out of the crowd.
