The Chinese Academy of Sciences, Xinjiang Institute of Ecology and Geography Zhang Daoyuan task group, we obtained TaMnSOD gene from drought-tolerant shrubs white flowering Tamarix and transgenic use of its genetically transformed cotton cultivars in Xinjiang to obtain T4 generation transgenic lines. Morphological and physiological and biochemical tests confirmed that the transgenic lines have stronger drought resistance. Xinjiang is the main producing area of cotton. In cotton-planting areas, drought and soil salinization are the main factors that affect cotton production.
