杜鹃扦插主要在每年的2～5月进行,但如果掌握好技术,全年12个月内都可以扦插。扦插所用的工具材料首先要搭好塑料棚(生产房),长度不限。可根据扦插数量,宽度定在2～2.5m,高度在1m左右。塑料棚必须搭牢坚固,既要防风,又要防雨,不然坍塌损坏前功尽弃。其次,将搭好的塑料棚上面遮阳,距棚高最好在1m以上。
