The situation on the Korean Peninsula has witnessed a major shift since 2018: the road towards a resolution of the Korean Peninsula nuclear issue has reted to the path of negotiation, and major breakthroughs and improvements have been made in bilateral relations between the US and the DPRK, between North and South Korea, as well as between China and North Korea. However, with major disputes in core issues remaining including the pathway toward nuclear dismantlement and the removal of intational sanctions, negotiations between the US and the DPRK have stalled.
