民族特有词语承载着悠远丰厚的文化,很难在其他语言中找到完整对应。以中华“丝”语为例,汉语中相关的暗喻、引喻、换喻、借代等比比皆是。高语境文化背景的国人能共享它们的含义寓意,编织出心有灵犀的锦篇绣帙。而在低语境文化的英语中,由silk一词衍生的名称与概念几乎没有任何深层文化意义拓展。文章以此作为直面这类矛盾的切入点,探讨在典籍英译中多维补偿源语信息的方法,以将民族特有词语的内涵充分译介给目标语读者。
National unique words carrying a rich and long culture, it is difficult to find a complete correspondence in other languages. Take the Chinese “Si” language as an example, metaphors, metaphors, metonymy, metaphor and other metaphors in Chinese are abound. High contextual cultural background of the people can share their meaning and meaning, weaving the heart of the Jin-Jin embroidery. In the low-context culture of English, the names and concepts derived from the word silk scarcely extend any deep cultural meanings. The article takes this as an entry point facing this kind of contradiction and probes into the method of multi-dimensional compensation for source language information in classics English translation, in order to fully translate the connotation of national characteristic words into target language readers.
