Optimum conditions for extracting polysaccharide from Phellinus igniarius fruit bodies were studied using monofactorial and orthogonal testing. Optimal conditions for hot water extraction of polysaccharide were: 1∶30 sample∶water ratio, 3 h lixiviation time, 90 ℃ lixiviation temperature, and 80% final ethanol concentration. Polysaccharide yields obtained from P. igniarius fruit bodies using ultrasound were higher than those achieved using the hot water lixiviation method. The optimal treatment time for ultrasonic extraction was 50 min, and the yield was 4.65%.
