歌剧世界在夏季,通常不会有什么事发生。但是,过去的一个月却不一样。7月初,捷克文化部秘书公开声明,自明年1月份开始,拥有120年历史的布拉格国家歌剧院——排名第二的国家重要艺术团体——将与比它规模更大,且是其最大竞争对手的国家剧院合并。公众发出抗议声音,超过一万八千人联名签署请愿书反对这一计划。一周后,面临重重困难的纽约市立歌剧院宣布,将于下一个演出季与纽约市的公共剧院(Public Theater)携手合作。公共剧院在国际演艺界的声誉,其实就像美国的国家剧院。
The world of opera in the summer, usually nothing will happen. However, the past month is not the same. In early July, the secretary of the Czech Ministry of Culture publicly stated that since January of next year, the 120-year-old Prague State Opera House, the second-ranked national important art organization, will compete with its larger scale and its biggest competition Opponents of the National Theater merger. Public protests were made and more than 18,000 people signed a petition to oppose the plan. A week later, New York City’s Opera House, facing difficulties, announced plans to work with the New York City Public Theater in the next show. Public theater in the world of entertainment industry’s reputation, in fact, is like the United States National Theater.
