As a participant in WELLSTART’s global breastfeeding training program, we were invited to attend a global breastfeeding seminar in San Diego, USA from October 24-27, 1999. Officials from WHO and UNICEF and 79 delegates from over 30 countries attended the seminar. The congress exchanged ideas on establishing Baby-friendly hospitals to promote breastfeeding
