山水为“自然”形态,而“自然”是玄学的理论基础。因此,玄理是人们的主观意识对客观世界的某种反映。自魏晋以后,封建士大夫们纷纷研究山水的自然环境,以便从中领略其丰富的玄趣,追求道家冥合的逍遥自在的精神世界。山水是一种自然形成的形象,是玄理能够得到呈现的最恰当的载体。因此,山水景物成为人们在咏诗颂词、美术绘画之中用来抒发胸臆、寄托情怀的自然载体。自古以来,诗人画家都善于将山水自然风貌融入自己的作品中,并且在山水诗、山水画等各种艺术之中寻求言玄悟道的真谛。

Since ancient times, poets and painters are good at integrating the natural landscapes of nature into their own works, and seek the essence of Yanxu Enlightenment in various arts such as landscape poetry and landscape painting.
