重庆国营某厂铸工场,过去经常发生事故,一九五一年六至九月的四个月中人身事故六次,机器事故一次。当时,大家还认为这些事故是避免不了的。如说:“铸工场是吃火锅饭,就是要烫伤。”“不经过几次烫伤,要想学会技术是不可能的”。该厂根据这些思想情况,曾进行了一次保安大检查,批判了保守思想,但部份工人对保证安全生产仍有顾虑,工会便与团支部了解了这种情况,经研究后,便重点的培养了铸工场陈克勤小组,向全场提出保证安全生产挑战后,群众即掀起了挑战应战的高潮。这时工会保护委员会便组织小组保护干事学习业务,领导小组建立安全责任制度,并主动解决安全设备问题,这样一来,该场在近年来就只有炉灶喻祺一人的食指受了微伤,同时生产量也比一九五一年提高百分之五十,每月都超额完成了任务。他们获得这些成绩,主要有下列原因:
