G protein-coupled estrogen receptor (GPER), also known as G protein-coupled receptor 30 (GPR30), is a functional membrane receptor that has been found in recent years that is different from the classic nuclear receptor of estrogen. The receptor is widely expressed in various systems of the cortex, cerebellum, hippocampus, heart, lung, liver, skeletal muscle and genitourinary organs and other systems, combined with estrogen and its derivatives, causing rapid non-gene effects, System of a variety of physiological activities. This review summarizes the molecular structure, subcellular localization, signal transduction, distribution and function of GPER in male reproduction.
