甘蔗新品种新台糖１６号和新台糖１８号、新台糖２０号先后于１９９３年和１９９５年从台湾省引入我省。经２年隔离检疫后进行比较试验，结果表明这３个新品种在产量、蔗糖分和田间锤度等方面均明显优于对照品种粤糖６３／２３７。初步认为，这３个新品种均属早熟高糖高产品种。今后拟进一步扩大在不同生态蔗区的试验和示范，望能成为我省繁育推广的后续良种。
New varieties of sugar cane Xintai Sugar No. 16 and Xintai Sugar No. 18 and Xintai Sugar No. 20 successively introduced into our province from Taiwan Province in 1993 and 1995. After two years of isolation and quarantine after the comparative test, the results show that the three new varieties in yield, sucrose and field Brix were significantly better than the control varieties Yue sugar 63/237. Preliminary believe that these three new varieties are early maturity high sugar varieties. In the future, it is planned to further expand the experiment and demonstration in various ecological sugarcane areas and hope to become the successor elite in breeding and popularization in our province.
