“STS”是科学(Science)、技术(Technology)、社会 (Society)三个英文单词的缩写，研究2005年全国高考 试题发现，有关 STS 教育试题量和分值所占比例特别 大，且 STS 内容试题分布较广，涉及日常生活、社会热 点问题、食品、医药、能源、环保、化工生产、高新产品 等方面，实现了《考试说明》所述“考试还应力图反映 出考生能够初步运用化学视角，去观察生活、生产和 社会中的各类有关化学问题”。下面选取部分试题归 类解析，供复习借鉴。
