The levels of endothelin (ET) and calcitonin gene related peptide (CGRP) in 25 renal transplant recipients before and after operation and before and after hemodialysis in 35 renal dialysis patients were detected by radioimmunoassay. Thirty normal People as a control group. The results showed that plasma ET levels in kidney transplantation and renal dialysis patients were significantly higher than the control group, the difference was significant (P <0.01). After the renal transplantation and after the hemodialysis plasma ET were significantly decreased, especially in hemodialysis patients was the most obvious, compared with preoperative and hemodialysis were significant (P <0.05). Plasma CGRP levels in both groups were significantly lower than those in the control group (P <0.05). Hemodialysis patients after hemodialysis plasma CGRP increased significantly (P <0.01). No significant changes were found in renal transplant recipients (P <0.05). The results suggest that ET and CGRP participate in the pathophysiological process of renal disease, and the study on its content changes is of great significance to improve the success rate of renal transplantation and the quality of hemodialysis.
