宝莲灯又名美丁花,原产菲律宾,野牡丹科多年生灌木。宝莲灯是盆花中的名贵品种,叶面宽大,树冠丰满。当花蕾抽出后,最先露出的是粉白色苞片,然后在花序上绽放出珍珠般粉色鲜亮的小圆球,从主干倾垂而下,优美典雅,观赏性极高。花期可长达3个多月,身价颇高。栽培要点如下。1.选择基质宝莲灯的栽培应选用排水性及透气性良好、经过消毒处理的基质。一般可采用粗草炭为主的栽培基质。pH值在3.5～4之间。
