对稀土化学的研究,虽然已有一百八十多年的历史,但由于稀土是一族化学性质非常相似的镧系元素,早期大量时间都集中在分离单一稀土的研究上,长期以来只限于混合稀土的应用。直到1947年,使用离子交换解决了纯的单一稀土的分离问题,才使稀土化学的研究工作真正开展起来,距今也只不过约三十年的历史。由此可见,人们发现和开始认识稀土虽然已经很久了,但是在稀土的性质、理论和应用的研究这一方面,它却是一个历史很短的领域。
Although the study of rare earth chemistry has a history of more than 180 years, since rare earths are a series of lanthanides with very similar chemical properties, much of the early period has focused on the study of the separation of single rare earths and has long been limited to mixing Rare earth applications. Until 1947, the use of ion exchange to solve the problem of separation of pure single rare earth, rare earth chemistry research work really started up, only about three decades ago. From this we can see that although it has been a long time since the discovery and initiation of understanding of rare earths, it has been a historically short field in the study of the nature, theory and application of rare earths.
