卫星电视广播作为一种新型的电视广播方式，已经在国内外得到广泛应用，许多国家将它作为扩大电视覆盖最有效的方案。我国自１９８５年采用卫星转发电视节目以来，卫星电视接收与转播台如雨后春笋般地发展起来，有效地解决了全国电视覆盖问题。１９８８年３月，我国东方红－Ⅱ甲号同步卫星的上天，标志着我国卫星电视广播进入了一个新的发展阶段。不久，新的卫星投入使用后，将会进一步推动我国卫星电视广播事业的发展。
As a new type of television broadcasting, satellite television broadcasting has been widely used at home and abroad and is considered by many countries as the most effective solution for expanding television coverage. Since 1985, China has been using satellite transmission of television programs since the satellite television receiving and relay stations have mushroomed to effectively solve the problem of national television coverage. In March 1988, the heaven of China’s Dongfanghong-Ⅲ Jiaxing Satellite indicated that China’s satellite television broadcasting has entered a new stage of development. Soon after the new satellite is put into use, it will further promote the development of China’s satellite television broadcasting.
