微波炉是微波技术在炊具方面的具体应用,家用微波炉的频率为2450MHz,用于烹饪、煮食物等。微波炉工作时,使食物中的分子随微波周期以每秒几十亿次的速度来回振动、摩擦,从而产生高热,达到加热食物的目的。目前微波炉有普及型和电脑控制型两种:普及型配有定时装置,使用时按食物的种类选定烹调时间,到规定时间后便终止加热,有的还有功率调节装置,微波炉的输出功率可按需要进行调节;电脑控制型装有微电脑记忆装置,可使微波炉按预定的程序完成解冻、满功率加热、半功率加热和保温等操作。预定的程序可以通过按键开关或接触感应开关输入,也可采用磁性卡片输入。
