笔者利用农家品种群体内的自然变异，育成了紫皮洋葱新品种———紫星。１９９０年搜集省内外农家品种紫皮洋葱种质材料８份。１９９１年从紫引９０４材料中发现少量具有主要育种目标性状的变异株，表现为鳞茎扁圆形，外表皮深紫红色，有鲜亮光泽，单球质量较大，与其他材料 I use the natural variation within the farm breeds, bred violet new varieties of onion --- Purple Star.
