对于陆地和海下传输系统的各种应用来说,具有很长中继间距的光纤传输系统是很有吸引力的。本文介绍在1.2——1.6μm波长范围内用低损耗光纤的传输实验结果。在1.27μm处折射率分布最佳的渐变型光纤已被制成光缆。平均带宽是1.275MHz-km,平均光损耗为0.6dB/km。采用InGaAsP/InP LD和Ge-APD在100Mb/s和32Mb/s传输,分别实现了52.6km和62.3km的中继间距。用1.2μm和1.5μm的LED在32Mb/s传输,也分别实现了21.5km和12.0km的中继间距。
Fiber optic transmission systems with long repeater spacing are attractive for a variety of applications on land and sea transport systems. This article describes the results of transmission experiments with low loss fibers in the wavelength range of 1.2 - 1.6 μm. Gradient fibers with the best refractive index profile at 1.27 μm have been made into optical fibers. The average bandwidth is 1.275MHz-km and the average optical loss is 0.6dB / km. Using InGaAsP / InP LD and Ge-APD at 100Mb / s and 32Mb / s transmission, respectively, to achieve the relay spacing of 52.6km and 62.3km. With 1.2μm and 1.5μm LEDs transmitting at 32Mb / s, the repeater spacing of 21.5km and 12.0km respectively was also achieved.
