Lise Hartle, one of the pioneers of the movement that used to be open to men alone, was one of those pioneers. The 31-year-old disabled Danish woman won the respect of all the spectators in the 1952 dressage arena with unique technology and confident performance. Although she still needs help when getting in and out, the Olympic silver medal she won won the sports world.
