High School Physics Student Experiment “Momentum conservation in collision” verifies the law of conservation of momentum by using two equally-sized balls of different mass that are colliding horizontally at the end of a chute. Experiments cleverly use the horizontal distance of the ball flying before and after the collision to represent the horizontal velocity before and after the collision, thus simplifying the measurement of the velocity to the measurement of the length. This is based on the principle that the ball making a flat throw falls to the ground
