Objective To investigate the prevalence of dermatological diseases in Tibet by officers and soldiers in Tibet and provide reference for medical service support. Methods The specialists asked the officers and soldiers of certain units stationed in Chengdu and Chengdu for medical history and experience on a case-by-case basis. Specimens were collected for laboratory tests as necessary to confirm the diagnosis. Results Compared with a department in Chengdu, there was no significant difference in the skin grade of officers and soldiers stationed in Tibet. The prevalence of skin disease was 51.7%, the rate of skin appendage lesions was 24.3%, and the prevalence of light-derived skin disease was 5.7%. Among them, acne vulgaris, pleomorphic solar eruption and seborrheic dermatitis (including seborrhea) were the most common ones, accounting for 48.4% of all patients. Conclusions Acne vulgaris, pleomorphic solar eruption and seborrheic dermatitis are common skin diseases of officers and soldiers in Tibet. The prevalence of light-induced dermatosis is significantly higher than that of a soldier in Chengdu. Dermatology is less harmful to its health and combat training.
