长武王东沟试验区通过10多年系统田间试验,采用不同降水年型粮食作物丰产抗旱技术,在降水趋于正常的1993年,小麦产量为4944kg/hm~2,玉米产量为9478.5kg/hm~2,粮食单产6256.5kg/hm2,处历史最高水平,在世界旱作上也是罕见记录,自1929年以来灾情最为严重的1995年,年降水量272.2mm,占常年降水46.6%,粮食产量仍取得1504.5kg/hm~2的较好收成,与80年代以前的正常年景产量相当,在“八五”期间持续干旱,且有两个特大干旱年出现的严酷条件下,粮食产量平均为3724.5kg/hm~2,属黄土高原同类型区上等水平。在常态降水年份大丰收,特大干旱年份与80年代以前正常年份产量水平持平,这充分说明长武试区粮食综合丰产能力、综合抗灾能力的增强。长武试区粮食生产已进入持续发展阶段。

In the normal precipitation year, the bumper harvest, extra-arid year and the normal production level before the 1980s were the same, which fully demonstrated the comprehensive yield-increasing ability of grain in Changwu Experimental Area and the enhancement of comprehensive anti-disaster capability. Food production in the Changwu test area has entered a stage of sustained development.
