Shock means heavy lifting on the drill string. The maximum load on the drill pipe before the shock is on the drill floor. This paper discusses the load on the drill pipe before and after the shock before and after the shock, indicating that in most cases the shock wave generated during the shock does not produce an additional load on the drill pipe that is different from the dead load. This theoretical result has been confirmed by a test of shock operation at a depth of 1200 m. Due to the concern that the possible additional loads that would otherwise be caused by the shock motions will constrain the jar release force, the load on the drill pipe may be a limiting factor in the shock, and our main conclusion is that the jar was powered No additional load on the rod. This information can be used to set the jar optimal release.
