当加工套筒类、管类及空心轴等零件时,特别是加工气缸体、油缸体等零件时,往往要在两端内孔口镶以闷头作辅助定位。不但使加工工艺复杂化(因为零件镶闷头的内孔和闷头的外圆都要精密配合,既费工时,又费材料),而且两端内、外圆由于所镶闷头的配合松紧程度不一致,容易引起变形或跳动,同时由于所镶闷头长度不一致(批生产时),加工时要移动尾座,都将严重影响着加工质量。
