铜为镀铬液中有害杂质之一,必须定期进行控制检验,常用的测定方法有电解法、碘量法或硫化铜沉淀重量法等。上述方法虽然都能获得准确的结果,但均有手续烦、费时长的缺点,不能满足及时控制生产的要求。目前铜的比色测定法已普遍应用于各种物质中低含量铜的测定。赵景周提出用有机溶剂置换萃取——比色法测定铜,其原理是根据铜试剂(DDTC)在pH 8.5~11时,与金属离子生成络合物的稳定顺序:
