Aiming at the short-line flaking defects appearing on the surface of 304 stainless steel cold rolled sheet, the morphology was observed by optical microscope and scanning electron microscope, and the local composition of the 304 stainless steel was examined by spot scanning and surface scanning. The results show that the micro-morphology of the short-line flaking defects on the surface of 304 cold-rolled sheet is “grooved”, the junction of the edge of the groove and the normal surface has a layered stepped structure, and the edges of the groove have oxides of iron and chromium . According to the test results and relevant research and analysis, it is inferred that the short-line flaking defects are mainly due to the high local ferrite content due to the chromium segregation in the slab triangular area, local microcracks in the hot rolling deformation and oxidation of the oxide film in the cold rolling process In the calendered deformation, after pickling partially covered in the oxide film on the substrate flaking and formed.
