Background: The State of Minnesota is home to one of the highest number of refugee arrivals in the US. There is no published literature on the epidemiology of the common diseases identified in this population. The primary objective of this study was to evaluate the prevalence of intestinal parasite infections in primary refugee arrivals to the state of MN. Secondary objectives were to determine the association of intestinal parasite infection with the gender, age, and ethnicity of the refugees.
