穗系育种是利用品种的变异性,从中选择优良变异单株(穗)培育新品种的方法之一。我省地形复杂,气候多变。生态条件多种多样,一方面对小麦品种具有不同的要求,同时又是导致品种较易产生自然变异的客观因素。在同一地方,由于多品种搭配栽培,品种间天然杂交的机率比较高,这都可给穗系选择提供较丰富的原始材料。1973年我们曾采选了表现较优的变异株(穗)材料700余份,经过74年的观察鉴定,评选出62份穗行材料,于75年继续进行鉴选,并测产,从中评选了比“阿波”增产幅度较大,成熟期稍早,品质较优、抗逆力较强的材料10份,其中4份可供下年度参加全省多点试验,六份再进一步鉴定,选淘。
