《寻根》2006年第1期发表柳哲《柳宗元佚文〈谱牒论〉》,说:“笔者以为该文为柳宗元所写无疑。”他把伪作看成佚文,而且说得这样肯定,对读者产生误导,需要澄清,以免伪文流传,混淆视听,误人不浅。今从五个方面进行考辨。一、关于“贞观十三年论世家”问题史书一律记载,贞观十二年《氏族志》修成。伪《谱牒论》云贞观十三年,误。唐太宗对高士廉的训话,古代无录音,柳宗元不可能听到,只能于文献中看到。今将《贞观政要》、《旧唐书》、《资治通鉴》、伪《谱牒论》所载太宗对高士廉的训话,全文对照如下:
