文澜阁、文汇阁、文宗阁是清代江南地区的官方藏书楼,主要贮藏《古今图书集成》与《四库全书》。“江南三阁”的修建是南巡景观营缮事务日益成熟化的体现,修建之初作为帝王南巡行宫中的三处御书楼,主要贮存《古今图书集成》,但随着江南文化影响力的增强及在清帝国文化系统中承担着越来越重要的角色,“江南三阁”最终与北方四阁一样,获得贮藏《四库全书》的地位,并且成为江南地区三处公共图书馆,内藏典籍一定程度上可供文人士子借阅抄录。晚清数次战火纷争,江南三阁彻底被毁,典籍也多散佚,唯有文澜阁在清末得以复建。

Only the Manlan Pavilion was rebuilt in the late Qing Dynasty.
