应广大妇产科同仁的要求，本刊的“读者、作者、编者”栏目将“进一步充实”。欢迎关心和爱护《现代妇产科进展》的朋友踊跃来稿，题材不限，内容可以是学术的，也可以是写给《进展》的。本期刊出江森教授撰写“广大投稿者、审稿者及读者都要提高文学素质”以及江苏省盐城市妇幼保健院温开群主任的来稿“对进一步办好《进展》的几点建议”，意在抛砖引玉。 就目前《进展》的实际运转情况，的确尚有许多欠缺，有待改进。其中由于编辑部人员较少，对未能刊用的稿件不退稿，只在回执时告知作者６个月内如果收不到刊用通知，请自行处理。这就使部分作者对投出的稿件有种“石沉大海”的感觉。对于来稿，一般编辑部均实行三审制，初审时已将稿件初步分类，然后分批分专业送全国各地编委审阅，优秀稿件优先审阅。大部分的稿件则要根据送审反馈意见由执行编辑逐篇修改决定取舍，这样就要留有一定的工作时间。我们也很希望作者的稿件都能有机会发表，但这只是个愿望。论文能否录用，首先是文章的选题和质量，我们将尽力提高工作效率。２０００年改双月刊后，有望增加用稿量，还望广大作者继续给予理解和支持。 温主任文中提及的诸条建议言辞中肯，是对我刊的重视与鞭策，当不辜负各位对本刊提高质量的期望，籍表?
