安化是湖南省的重点林业县,森林覆被率达54.1%,马尾松是该县主要树种之一,约占森林总面积的25%。由于采取人工造林与人工促进天然更新、封山育林等措施,马尾松林的恢复和发展很快,现绝大部分都已郁闭成林,但多数林分没有进行抚育间伐工作,致使林分密度过大,林木分化严重,严重影响了林分的生长发育、材质和蓄积量。为了充分发挥林地的生产潜力,在林分郁闭后能持久的保持合理的林分结构,就要适时合理地进行间伐抚育,不断调整林分密度,以改善林分的环境条件,缩短培育期。为此,北京林学院与湖南安化县林科所协作,于1984年对林科所试验场、柘溪林场、双龙公社等的马尾松林作了调查研究。

To this end, Beijing Forestry College and Hunan Anhua County Forestry Branch collaboration, in 1984 on the Linke test site, Sui River Forest Farm, Shuanglong Commune and other Masson pine forests were investigated.
