The incidence of perinatal disorders in newborns, that is, high-risk infants, sensory defects and impaired cognitive function are high. Using an accurate and reliable method to examine the sensory and cerebral cortical functions of high-risk infants is crucial for early detection of abnormalities and timely interventions. Scalp recording of the brain’s electrical activity response to stimuli can be used to assess the functional integrity of sensory pathways and to assess the temporal and temporal state of neural activity in the primary sensory cortex and in the secondary zone associated with more advanced processes of perception and cognition. This article in recent years abroad on electrophysiological examination, especially the visual evoked potentials (VEP) in the application of high-risk infants are introduced.
