In recent years, the application of cobalt-chromium-molybdenum alloy in dentistry is more and more widely. In the near future, it can be considered as a substitute for precious metal, but problems such as changes in the casting volume of the alloy are not easily controlled. Adding beryllium can change the casting properties of this alloy, but beryllium is a highly toxic metal. The test described herein is an in vitro cell culture of a cobalt-chromium-molybdenum alloy containing beryllium to determine if beryllium can be used as a biological material. Materials and Methods Cell Culture: The cells used in this study were L-fibroblast strains taken from the subcutaneous tissue of C3H mice. This was cultured in YLH medium supplemented with 5% bovine serum.
