Recent research shows that reserpine has the potential to become a fertility control drug. In vitro test with reserpine solution of 4.1 × 10 ~ (-5) M concentration showed the result of completely inhibiting sperm motility. 0.2 ml of 4.1 × 10 -3 M reserpine solution was poured into the uterus of the hamster on the first day after mating to effectively prevent the implantation of the fertilized egg. Chan et al conducted an in vitro test of the effect of reserpine on human sperm fertility.
