西藏素有“世界屋脊”之称。这里有着世界上切割最深、最为壮观的峡谷——雅鲁藏布江大峡谷,有着世界上最高的山峰——珠穆朗玛峰,有着藏羚羊、野驴等60余种国家重点保护动物,有着水能蕴藏量位居全国第一的丰富水利资源,有着位居全国第一的木材蓄积量,有着储量丰富的矿产资源,有着神秘而又博大精深的藏民族文化……这里阳光灿烂,空气清新,景观丰富奇特,是目前世界上污染程度最轻的一片高原“净土”。拉萨中学是“中国GLOBE学校”之一,那里的中学生们把对家乡的深深热爱化作了保护环境的点滴行动,为的是要让高原的天——永远明净、高原的水——永远清澈、高原的动植物——永远生机勃勃,让大自然赋予的丰富资源、祖先留下的灿烂文化——世代永传。
