2015年年底,苏州市中级人民法院对一起走私珍贵动物案作出一审宣判,被告人陈威等14名远洋船员因单独或合伙共走私17只非洲鹦鹉,均被法院判处刑罚。另两名收购或转卖的鸟贩,则被法院以非法收购珍贵、濒危野生动物罪判处有期徒刑五年,并处罚金。据悉,此案是南京海关在江苏查获的最大宗走私活体动物案。海员倒卖非洲鹦鹉赚外快1986年1月出生的陈威,在“瑞波”号远洋货轮上刻苦工作几年后,于2013年被晋升为轮上的二副。因“瑞波”号常年往返于中国与非洲之间,陈威对同行间利用职务便
At the end of 2015, the Intermediate People’s Court of Suzhou Municipality held the first instance verdict on a case of smuggling precious animals.
