Arundel meteorite rain fell at 1.05 a.m. on February 8, 1969, in southern Chihuahua, Mexico, and swept north-south-west-north-north-east. A strong flash of light and loud explosions were heard upon landing. The meteorites broke up into many fragments over the town of Puellito de Arunde, covering an area of about 300 square kilometers and collected about two tons of meteorite material. The weight of a single sample from 1 gram to 110 kilograms. From the meteorite rain distribution area and the total weight of meteorites, it is the largest meteorite has landed the meteorite. According to their mineral and chemical composition, Arunde meteorites should belong to Type III carbonaceous chondrules. Studying the material composition of Arundel’s carbon chondrite is of great significance for understanding the composition and genesis of the moon.
